"The word landscape doesn't include the word 'sky'. It is very important for me as a landscape painter to combine both elements. It is my vision as a landscape painter to observe that wonderful combination of sky and land existing as one."

Since launching his career as an Artist in 1974, Rake has exhibited many times at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition (thirteen years), the Royal Society of British Artists (11 years) and the New English Art Club (11 years).

The New English Art Club was founded in 1880 and in 2013 Rake was elected a Member of this prestigious club.
